SUPPORT TO THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IN SOFTWARE PROJECTS BASED ON SIMULATION MODELS

Abstract

In this paper, we describe the results of a research project that aimed at investigating specific aspects of the decision making on people management in software project teams. Dynamic intangible variables, like stress, motivation, conflict and performance have a very high impact on people and should be included in management models. We adopted a simulation using system dynamics models, which represent a powerful technique to deal with dynamic variables taken from the problem domain. Initial results allow analyzing and testing real world decision scenarios in software project management, leading to risk avoidance and improved management.
