INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES: USAGE MODE AND STRATEGIC CHARACTER

Abstract

This work searched elements in the literature to connect the IT resources, usage modes and exploitation, exploration e ambidextrous strategic characters through the analyses of the IT routines. Once the connections were established, an exploratory research were conducted within 17 companies based on IT executives’ interviews, with the objective of contribute to the discussion about how IT resources are being used at major Brazilian companies and about strategic character these different usage forms assume. At the end of this investigation, it was possible to catch a glimpse of IT resource use and strategic character at the researched companies.
