Abstract

Bank branches operational management is a quite complex activity that involves huge volumes of information. Although Business Intelligence (BI) is often recognized as a solution for optimizing decision making in such situations, there are few studies integrating both subjects – BI and bank branches operation. This article presents a case study focused on a major Brazilian commercial bank, describing the application of BI for the operation of the branch network. The study contributes to identifying the benefits and challenges involved in applying BI for that purpose.
