Abstract

Revista Eletrônica de Sistemas de Informação completes its eigths year of existance celebrating the fact that it has become an important means for publishing the results of scientific studies in the Information Systems field in Brazil.

Since 2002, the journal published ca. 120 academic papers, mainly by Brazilian authors, but also written in English or Spanish. Our goal is to increase international participation to 25% over the next two years.

Some readers may have already noticed that the cientific comittee has grown to include several influent researchers from other countries in an attempt to increase the journal's visibility in their scientific communities and, thus, also increase the level of submission by colleagues from Latin America and elsewhere.

RESI has put an effort to keep its agility in evaluationg the papers it receives. Our goal is to keep the average time between reception of the manuscript and the provision of the editor's decision (already based on the remarks of the double blind reviewers) of less than two months, never more than four months. Considering that the number of submissions is increasing steadly, this is a great challenge for the future, which we hope to face with the support of the academic community. That is absolutely necessary for RESI to remain as a benchmark even for some of the most tradicional journals!
